DNA Infidelity Testing Kit
Forensic DNA testing will provide conclusive results to verify or refute the presence of male and/or female DNA on suspicious items. Once the item in question has been analysed, GTL can also carry out powerful comparative DNA analyses to identify the DNA source. Our Infidelity test is offered at £299. All GTL’s DNA testing is reliable, accurate and strictly confidential.
In an infidelity test, we test a given DNA sample to establish whether the DNA present in the sample is male DNA or female DNA. In some cases, results may indicate a mixed profile (which means that DNA belonging to more than 1 individual was identified). Additional mouth swab samples may be tested and compared against any DNA profile identified during the initial analysis at an extra cost of £79 each. By carrying out this additional test, we can establish whether the DNA in the tested samples belong to the same person or to different people.
Due to the Human Tissue Act, GTL is unable to test samples belonging to any test participants without their informed consent. Click here for more information.
DNA test results will be available 10 working days after we receive the DNA samples and completed registration form.
Types of Samples Tested
GTL can analyse a wide range of samples in an infidelity test. We always recommend contacting our customer support team before sending any samples. Our customer care representatives are trained to advise you about your chosen sample, how to collect it, store it and post it. They may also give you an idea of the viability of testing using your chosen sample and might, in some cases, suggest a better alternative. To view the most common list of samples tested, click here.
DNA Testing and The Human Tissue Act
Note: Due to the Human Tissue Act, GTL is unable to test samples belonging to any test participants without their informed consent. Any test participant submitting a DNA sample must sign our consent form authorizing us to test their sample. Children under the legal age of consent can have their legal guardian or parent/s sign on their behalf.
The Human Tissue Act also requires that the person from which the DNA sample has been collected be made fully aware of what their DNA sample will be used for. The absence of any form of refusal, comment or assent does not signify consent. Failure to comply with the Human Tissue Act is a criminal offence.
Semen Detection Test
A semen detection test is quick and simple test that will enable you to confirm the presence of semen. If you do not require a full DNA test but just want to know if a stain contains semen or not, check out our semen detection test.
